Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Seesaw Vision Center a proud provider of vision care products and services in Livingston.


Clare Tao, O.D.

Dr. Clare Tao, earned her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University. She went on to work as a vision therapist with developmental optometrists for a year to help children with binocular visual dysfunctions. This work experience inspired her to become an optometrist. She received her optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry. Toward the end of her five years of training, She found her passion in custom specialty contact lenses and myopia management.

Today, she dedicates her works in private practice settings and focuses on designing custom lenses to control myopia progression in children and restore sight for patients with irregular corneas and ocular surface diseases.


Sylvia Qiong Chen, O.D.

Dr. Chen graduated with honors from the State University of New York, earning her Doctor of Optometry degree. Before her studies in the U.S., Dr. Chen practiced as an ophthalmologist in China for several years, bringing valuable experience to her current practice.

Dr. Chen also conducted research on secondary cataract prevention and advanced refractive surgery, earning her a master’s degree in vision science. She is an active member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC) and has a particular passion for children’s eye care and myopia control. Dr. Chen has demonstrated her expertise and met the requirements of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, earning the prestigious IACMM certification in myopia management.

Drawing from her experience as an ophthalmologist in China, Dr. Chen possesses expertise in various areas of eye care, including dry eye disease, glaucoma and cataract management, eye infection treatment, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease management, and other ocular conditions.

Dr. Chen resides in Millburn, New Jersey, with her two daughters and a beloved dog. During her leisure time, she enjoys hiking and gardening.
